Desert Artists Club Winter Social

Sharing Your Art and social time with members

Sue Sindelar

Winter has given us quite a mix of weather this season and also time together to appreciate our diverse group of artists. We gathered for one of our social times and shared our art, which always brings out the fun and talents of our members, and, of course, some delicious treats were enjoyed by all who were able to attend. With the new year well underway now in February, we are creating with enthusiasm and looking forward to another social in March. Art at the Lakes, also in March, will be a highlight for all artists displaying and selling some of their work with other artists around the state. Watch for Splash articles titled “Art at the Lakes.”

The Desert Artists Club meets each Tuesday afternoon between 3 and 6 p.m. in the Ceramics Room (A-8) in Cottonwood. We come together to be with and support other artists. Bringing our own art supplies, we work on our own projects in a variety of mediums, including oil, watercolor, colored pencil, acrylics, pastels, mixed media, and pen and ink. Our casual club has no dues or regular meetings. As a club, we promote fellowship, cooperation, and development among artists and those interested in the visual arts by creating in a supportive and inspirational environment. We enjoy being together and have fun creating.

If you are new to Sun Lakes and reside in one of the three HOAs, you are eligible to join. Feel free to just come and see what we are all about. Stop in some Tuesday and check out our group. The best time is between 3 and 5 p.m. Feel free to ask questions and see if this might be a fit for you.
