Have you ever wondered how our favorite quilting stores choose their fabrics from so many fabric companies? Have you ever found an amazing fabric panel but are not sure what to do with it? Lauri McAlpin of Quilt Central Studios and the online panel shop Focus on Fabric will answer those questions and help us stretch our creative talents. Lauri was a quilting fabric representative on the East Coast for several big fabric lines, including Moda and Maywood Studios. She is the owner of Quilt Central Studios located in Green Valley, Ariz., as well as the online fabric panel shop Focus on Fabric, with hundreds of panels to choose from!
Show and Share is always inspiring regarding both color and technique. Quilt techniques ranged from art quilts, seasonal fall quilts, a medallion quilt, a signature quilt, a baby quilt, table runners, and a member’s first quilt.
Come join us for the Jan. 8 meeting to kick off a new year of quilting with interesting new ideas!
Our Feb. 12 speaker will be Kathy Duval of the Positive Action Therapy Center, helping us stretch our quilting muscles and strengthen our body positions for hand and machine sewing.
