Diana’s Music Is Back

Diana Perez

After a break from the long, hot summer, Diana Perez is ready to entertain you again with a season filled with fun. You will soon hear some of your favorite songs as Diana performs her piano/vocals at the Palo Verde Country Club. Performance dates are Oct. 15 and 29, Nov. 12 and 26, Dec. 10, and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31. If you have a favorite tune you’d like to ring the new year in with, be sure to let Diana know in advance.

Diana hasn’t always played piano. She spent her earlier years teaching various subjects and raising a wonderful family. She was well into her 40s before the piano bug hit. Diana says, “It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Learning to accompany myself on the piano allows me to be independent when needed, maintain my versatility, and fully understand what it is to be a musician.” She started as a vocalist and performed at many major Phoenix metropolitan area resorts, including the Hyatt, Hilton, Biltmore, Princess, and Wrigley Mansion, and was the featured artist for the New Year’s Eve show at the Playboy Club.

She currently entertains at numerous senior living communities, such as nearby Robson Reserve. Diana is the high point for many seniors when she volunteers her services monthly at The Perfect Place, a daycare center for adults. It brings to heart the benefits that music serves for people of all ages.

Diana will be performing for the sixth year with her full band, Sentimental Breeze, at the Arizona Classic Jazz Festival, Nov. 3 through 6, at the Crowne Plaza Phoenix-Chandler Golf Resort in Downtown Chandler. Sentimental Breeze will perform four different sets where a highlight will be the educational set featuring George Gershwin meets Bessie Smith. The playing schedule is posted at www.azclassicjazz.org.
