The Dolly Dressers, a charity group supported by the Sun Lakes Sew-N-Sews, needs new members. COVID-19, members moving out of the area, and deaths have greatly reduced our membership. As a group, we take old and discarded Barbie dolls and 18-inch dolls and refurbish them with new hairstyles, repaired bodies, and most importantly, new clothes. The repaired dolls are then donated to local schools, charity groups, and shelters. If you love dolls and know basic sewing, we need you. We meet once a month as a group in the Sewing Room at Oakwood, on the first Thursday of the month, at 1 p.m. Our next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. Please drop by and see what we are all about. It is a lot of fun to be a Dolly Dresser!
