Be a part of the exciting Donation Drive for Save the Family Organization. Women’s Connection is reaching out to help this non-profit agency that has been helping valley homeless, veterans, domestic abuse and working poor families for more than 25 years. This is our opportunity to make a difference in lives. Bring your donations to Women’s Connection March Donation Drive and Brunch on Thursday, March 12 at 9:00 a.m. in the Kingston Ballroom of Oakwood Clubhouse. There is a great need for household products, hygiene products, non-perishable food items and new or gently used clothing. Gift cards to Walmart, Target, or Fry’s are very welcome. More comprehensive needs lists are available.

Save the Family mission is to empower families to conquer homelessness and achieve life-long independence. They treat the whole family with programs to break the negative cycles of poverty, abuse and homelessness. Last year, Save the Family provided services to more than 600 families and currently operates more than 300 housing units throughout the metropolitan Phoenix area. Tim Lidster, the Community Outreach Manager for Save the Family will present an overview of the work.

Madonna Dyson from Goodyear will be our inspirational speaker. This avid golfer learned that while keeping score on the golf course is essential, keeping score in life leads to frustration and disappointment. Madonna is a former payroll manager and director of a prison outreach program. She is passionate about working with the disadvantaged and those who are not readily accepted by society. This talented woman will speak about “Not Keeping Score Anymore.”

Music will be provided by Shawn Duncan, vocalist.
