East Valley Congregation host April event

Temple Havurat Emet, a small inclusive community dedicated to learning and prayer, will hold its next study session on Friday, April 1 in the Lecky Room of the Robson Library, 9330 East Riggs Road, Sun Lakes. The topic is “Jewish End of Life Practices” and the session will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Our Rabbi, Janet Madden, Ph.D, is a hospice rabbi-chaplain as well as a member of the Board of Rabbi’s Funeral Practices Committee. She has taught and presented on “Jewish End of Life Traditions” at synagogues and conferences.

Feel free to bring a snack or sandwich and beverage to the study session. There will be a break afterwards followed by a Shabbat service at 7:30 p.m. and then our Oneg will follow.

Our Community Passover Seder will be on Saturday, April 23 at 6:00 p.m. in a private room at Chompies Restaurant in Chandler. Our Cantor, Dr. Nancy Cohen, will be conducting a fun Seder with lots of singing along with the feasting. Price is $32.95 plus tax for a five-course menu of your choice. For information call Carol Sherter at 520-423-9941.

Everyone is welcome to attend our monthly services and events and experience a family, home-like setting where you are a name and not a number. Our new website will be set up and running soon. Also, look for our Facebook page in the near future under “Temple Havurat Emet in the East Valley.”
