Each year, the East Valley Marines celebrate the Marine Corps birthday with a formal evening that includes a special military ceremony performed by the Casa Grande JROTC and a beautiful dinner, followed by a guest speaker and dancing in the Oakwood ballroom. This year’s speaker is Sergeant Major Sigrid A. Rivera who has earned the Meritorious Service Medal. It is a very special evening where we remember those who served our country.

It is a very patriotic evening where every veteran is recognized for his/her service. Everyone is welcome.

The East Valley Marines, Det. 1296 of the Marine Corps League, is a nonprofit service organization made up of about 75 Marines, FMF Corpsmen, FMF Chaplains, and Associate members, including veterans of all services, who band together to promote the ideals of our great country and of the United States Marine Corps.

Our mission of the East Valley Marines is to assist local veterans, as well as their spouses, children, parents, and caregivers, when they have fallen on hard times. We work within our community in keeping with our military traditions.

One of the main fundraisers of the East Valley Marines is the East Valley Marines annual Charity Golf Tournament held each April at Oakwood. Since 2009, we have had successful tournaments that have provided us the opportunity to give back to our veterans and the community. Again, visit our website to find out information on the golf tournament.

The Detachment meets every second Tuesday of the month at 1800 hours at the Oakwood ballroom. We encourage visitors.
