Did you know that exercise is a new vital sign? As reported in The Wall Street Journal in December 2014, patients are coming out of the doctor’s office with prescriptions for physical activity in addition to drugs, doctor referrals and follow-up protocols.

Try exercise as your new prescription for Type 2 Diabetes or Alzheimer’s or Asthma or anxiety/depression. Exercise options in Sun Lakes for older adults (all ages and abilities) have lots of options including Tai Chi-Qigong, yoga, NIA (non-impact aerobics), Cardio Fit or MS ROM by Silver Sneakers, Zumba Gold, stretch and balance, walking, swimming, weight/circuit training, Pickleball or tennis.

As a Sun Lakes resident, I am a Tai Chi-Qigong Instructor certified by the American Tai Chi-Qigong Association. Also a Silver Sneakers® FLEX Instructor and certified to teach PWR! Moves for Parkinson’s and Chair Chi, I use easy and gentle Tai Chi to teach how to enhance overall health, increase flexibility, improve balance and coordination and reduce stress, while building bone strength. Life in balance is a body in motion; and motion lubricates your joints, like lotion lubricates your skin, so get moving!

Drop-in at my Tai Chi-QiGong class, tailored for older adults of all ages and abilities. Try it, you will feel rejuvenated and balanced.
