Fall Conference Filling Up Fast!

The response is terrific for Neighbors Who Care’s first-ever fall aging conference Aging Made Easier.

Aging Made Easier: What You Need to Know Before You Need to Know It is Neighbors Who Care’s fall aging conference, and it is set for Saturday, Nov. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tumbleweed Recreation Center.

Registration: There are two ways to register. Visit Eventbrite.com and search for “Aging Made Easier” to sign up, or call our office at 480-895-7133, Ext. 170. Attendance is limited to the first 100 people who register.

Our half-day event was designed to provide valuable resources so attendees could browse and interact face-to-face with service providers and learn tips and information from expert speakers. Our goal? To be ready with tried and true, little-known tips and tricks. We want every attendee to walk away from the day with a new perspective on aging and a bag full of information to help make the golden years just a little bit easier.

Vendor Fair: We have created a two-segment conference where attendees may browse the Vendor Hall in the first part of the morning and meet vetted senior service providers. Many will have reading information and giveaways available, and even tableside raffles to make the morning even more fun. Then, our speakers the second part of the morning.

Guest Speakers: Neighbors Who Care Board of Directors President and NWC Executive Director will launch the morning. Then, Aging Made Easier Honorary Chair, Chandler Councilmember, and staunch senior advocate Christine Ellis, will open the second half of the conference and offer her amazing outlook on the possibilities for seniors in our Chandler/Sun Lakes area. Christine will be followed by a slate of experts, including The Arizona Republic aging well columnist and certified dementia practitioner Elaine Poker-Yount, who will enlighten our audience with “10 Things Nobody Tells You as You Age.” Our keynote speaker is Brian Browne from Cognitive Care Education who will share his presentation, “Understanding and Preparing for the Dynamics of Aging.” Both Elaine and Brian are respected in their respective fields, and we are very fortunate to have their insight and expertise with us.

Just for Laughs: While the focus of our conference is learning to age well, after the last 18 months, we wanted our attendees to leave smiling. That’s why we are thrilled to welcome senior humorist Mark Cordes to the Aging Made Easier stage! Mark will share some lighthearted comedic anecdotes to leave us laughing in our seats and equipped to face aging with a sense of humor!
