Duane E. Papke
I am a novice painter who took up painting again after 40 some years without a brush in my hand. I was invited to visit the Desert Artists Club and soon after joined our happy band of artists. Previously, I had two art classes in high school. Now I receive excellent advice and recommendations from club members who critique my work and advice on how to improve on my water color paintings which is my first love. There are just something wonderful that takes place in the layering (putting on and taking off) of water colors on a canvas when you see your work come to life. I have just recently added acrylics as another medium to work with. It is still new to me however, I really enjoy how quickly I can complete a work with acrylics. I mainly paint outdoor scenes or something that strikes my fancy located within big cities or small little country towns. Come visit us and give our Desert Artists Club a look.
Stop by on Wednesdays at the Arts and Crafts room at Sun Lakes Country Club. We start gathering about 9:00 a.m. and go until ? p.m.
