Welcome back to all new and current members of the Fun Lakers Club. Our fall season is now in full swing. Our first Ultimate Hawaiian Luau was held on September 16 at the Cottonwood ballroom and pool. Everyone enjoyed the special Hawaiian-style Kalua pig for dinner while dancing the night away with the Margarita Villains. Thanks to everyone who wore their Aloha shirts and Hawaiian dresses, which added a special touch to the evening’s festivities.
One special event being planned for the holiday season is our trip to the Rose Bowl Parade. The trip is being made available through Free Spirit Vacations & Events. Space is very limited, and all members have received the flyer and registration information. On October 14, the Fun Lakers and Corvette Club of Arizona will co-host Oktoberfest at the Palo Verde Country Club. The fest includes live German music by the Candlelight Combo. There will be a German buffet dinner with a “no-host” bar. Our event begins at 5:30 p.m. Cost for this event will be $22.00 for Corvette and FLC members and $27.00 for nonmembers/guests.
We are planning two activities in November. On November 9, Fun Lakers/Sun Lakes Dance Club will host an evening of dancing with Thaddeus Rose at the San Tan Ballroom in Cottonwood. Then, on November 18, the Fun Lakers “Executive Chefs” will prepare a potluck dinner with all proceeds benefitting the Child Crisis Arizona. Our “Chili for Charity” event will be held at the Ironwood Clubhouse. Cost will be $8.00 per member.
To complete the fall season, the Fun Lakers Club will be hosting its annual Holiday Dinner/Dance on December 9 in the San Tan Ballroom. Our featured band for the evening will again be Chuck E. Baby and the Allstars, Arizona’s No. 1 Party Band! It is one of FLC’s signature events, so be sure to save the date.
As always, details for each of our events may be found on our website, www.funlakers.org. Event flyers and registration forms are sent directly to all members via email as soon as they become available. So, it’s great to be a member and be the first to know what’s happening with FLC!
Fun Lakers Club is all about creating and fostering new and lasting friendships and having fun. We will be hosting a table at each of the four Sun Lakes Open Houses, where you can get additional information about our club. Our membership form is also available on our website. The cost is $12.00 per person. The season for fun lasts all year round for the Fun Lakers Club, and we look forward to seeing you at any and all of our future events.
