Welcome to September and the beginning of a new season of activities in and around Sun Lakes. With that in mind, the Fun Lakers Club (FLC) has planned a calendar of events which will delight and entertain all of our club members and guests.
One special event already being planned for the holiday season is our trip to the Rose Bowl Parade. The trip is being made available through Free Spirit Vacations & Events. Space is very limited, and all members have received the flyer and registration information. To begin the fall season of local events and activities, FLC will be hosting our first Hawaiian Luau on September 16. Dinner will include Hawaiian-style Kalua pig. Music will be provided by the Margarita Villains. The event will take place at the Cottonwood poolside and ballroom. The weather will be great, so wear your favorite Aloha shirt or Hawaiian dress. Information for this event will be sent directly to members when all of the details are finalized.
On October 14, the Fun Lakers and Corvette Club of Arizona will co-host Oktoberfest at the Palo Verde Country Club. The fest includes live German music by the Candlelight Combo. There will be a German buffet dinner with a no-host bar. Our event begins at 5:30 p.m. Cost for this event will be $22.00 for Corvette and FLC members and $27.00 for nonmembers/guests.
FLC is also planning an evening of dancing, in coordination with the Sun Lakers Dance Club, on November 9. Music will be presented by Thaddeus Rose. The event will take place in the San Tan Ballroom.
To complete the fall season, the Fun Lakers Club will be hosting its annual Holiday Dinner/Dance on December 9. The featured band for the evening will again be Chuck E. Baby and the Allstars, Arizona’s No. 1 Party Band! It is one of FLC’s signature events, so be sure to save the date!
As always, details for each of our events may be found on our website, www.funlakers.org. Event flyers and registration forms are sent directly to all members via email as soon as they become available. So, it’s great to be a member and be the first to know what’s happening with FLC!
