In April, the Fun Lakers Club (FLC) nominated new board and committee chairs for the upcoming season. Voting for the new positions took place on April 25. We would like to congratulate the new board and committee heads who will begin their positions on July 1 for the 2018-2019 season:
President Don Morgan, Vice President Frank Mills, Secretary Colleen Ferris, Treasurer Jackie Morgan, Activities TBA, Hospitality Donna Commo, Membership Rose O’Connor, Publicity Carole Sinicki, Webmaster Wayne Karp.
A new change for the Fun Lakers Club is the addition of the Sun Lakes Dance Party group. With the dance party merging with FLC, our club has become the largest social group in the Sun Lakes community. FLC will utilize the name “Sun Lakes Dance Party” and add the phrase, “sponsored by the Fun Lakers Club” when the dances are held. This will help to differentiate these events from others offered throughout the year by FLC.
The cost for joining either or both clubs is $12.00 per year for the Fun Lakers and $40.00 per person prior to July 1 (after July 1, the cost is $50.00 per person) for the six dance parties, with music by Thaddeus Rose. Further information regarding events and dates may be found on our website at www.funlakers.org.
The Fun Lakers Club is planning two events this summer. On June 13, we will celebrate “Happy Hour” at Fiesta Mexicana located at Alma School and Chandler Heights. Happy Hour pricing will be available, including beer, Margaritas and appetizers. Saturday, July 21, the club will attend the play, Sister Act, at the Hale Theatre in Gilbert. The cost for theatre tickets is $24.00 per person. The event flyers and registration forms have been sent out to all FLC members.
The Fun Lakers Club is all about creating and fostering new and lasting friendships and, of course, Having Fun! If you haven’t joined or are not sure if it’s the right match for you and you are staying in Sun Lakes over the summer, this may be the perfect time of the year to give us a try. Why not let FLC help put some “Gold” in your “golden years”?
