In March, our event was changed to a sip and mingle at the D-vine Wine Bar and Bistro. A fun evening was had by all in attendance and we thank our activities chairman, Frank Mills, for his efforts as well as D-vine owner/manager Robert Coulson for a lovely evening.
On Saturday, April 16 we will hold our very popular annual Progressive Dinner. It’s a chance to share stories with old friends and also meet new friends in a more intimate setting. Our club members generously open their homes to host dinner groups of eight and dessert groups of 16. The evening begins with a delightful variety of delicious appetizers and a cash bar at Oakwood’s Poolside Cafe. It is here that you will learn the home that will host your dinner meal and the home that will host the dessert. The dinner meal is catered by owner Hanna of Beaver Choice Restaurant of Mesa (www.beaverchoice.com) known for their ethnic servings of German, Polish, Swedish and Canadian cuisine. The main course will include German style beef rouladen and pearl onion chicken breast along with garlic mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables and fresh garden salad. Red and white wines, etc. will be provided. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another and make new friends. Following dinner, you and your group of eight will travel to a nearby dessert host home and meet up with another group of eight guests for tasty desserts. Bailey’s Irish Cream, etc. are provided. It’ll be fun! It’s a members only event, so why not join up for some fun? The price for the event is $28 each. Both couples and singles are welcome.
