A special welcome to all of our new members who joined the Fun Lakers Club during the October open houses in Sun Lakes. Our club is growing, and we are planning a record number of events for you this season.
In October, we co-hosted the Oktoberfest with the Corvette Club of Arizona. The fest included live German music by the Candlelight Combo and a German buffet dinner at the Palo Verde Country Club. It was a great event for celebrating the new fall season with FLC.
Beginning in November, we are adding a monthly dance (November through March), in conjunction with the Sun Lakes Dance Club. The first dance will be on November 9 in the San Tan Ballroom of Cottonwood. Thaddeus Rose will be returning for another season of great entertainment. The cost is $10.00 per person at the door. Open dancing will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with dance lessons provided at 6:30 p.m.
Our second event in November is “Chili for Charity.” We will be serving Arizona’s best chili, provided by Sun Lakes restaurants’ executive chefs. All proceeds from the event will benefit Child Crisis Arizona, a charity for children and families. This event is open to all and will be held at the Ironwood Clubhouse. Cost is $10.00 per member and $15.00 per non-member. There will be a cash bar, several fun and unique games with prizes and DJ Don for your listening and dancing entertainment.
To complete the fall season, the Fun Lakers Club will be hosting its annual Holiday Dinner/Dance on December 9 in the San Tan Ballroom. Our featured band for the evening will be Chuck E. Baby and the Allstars. They have been voted the best party band in Arizona numerous times by the Arizona Republic. It will be quite a special holiday event for all Fun Lakers and friends. Menu details and pricing will be forthcoming. This is one of FLC’s signature events, so be sure to save the date.
Looking ahead to 2018, FLC is hosting its annual meeting on January 6, and Trivia Night on January 27. There will be a Gangster Night in February and our special progressive dinner in March. Details for each of our events may be found on our website, www.funlakers.org. Event flyers and registration forms are sent directly to all members via email, as soon as they become available. So, it’s great to be a member and be the first to know what’s happening with FLC!
Fun Lakers Club is all about creating and fostering new and lasting friendships and having fun. Our membership form is also available on the website. The cost is $12.00 per person. By joining now, your membership is good through all of 2018. The season for fun lasts all year round for the Fun Lakers Club, and we look forward to seeing you at one of our future events.
