We’re starting a new year. Doesn’t that stimulate you take stock and make some commitments? Or call them resolutions.
It’s also a time to acknowledge that even though things could be better, they’re not so bad. We are not so bad. In fact, I feel like focusing on what’s good in my life.
One of my favorite tools for focusing on the positive is my set of affirmation cards. Let me share with you some of the messages on my cards. Adopt these affirmations for yourself if you want to.
“The past is over. This is a new day, one that I have never lived before. I stay in the now and enjoy each moment.”
“I love and approve of myself. I am good enough just as I am. I speak up for myself. I ask for what I want. I claim my power.”
“I am willing to change. I am willing to release old, negative beliefs. They are only thoughts that stand in my way. My new thoughts are positive and fulfilling.”
“I open new doors to life. I rejoice in what I have and I know that fresh new experiences are always ahead. I greet the new with open arms. I trust life to be wonderful.”
Okay, I admit that not all affirmations are equally apropos to my life. I’ll even confess that sometimes I get a bit miffed when I close my eyes and select a card that says something like “My body is giving me messages” only to hear that my partner has drawn a card that says “I am beautiful and everybody loves me.”
Here’s an affirmation you can count on: At Golden Goalies “All my relationships are harmonious.” Join us, won’t you, for support, encouragement, shared wisdom, and some good laughs.
