Each spring Golden Goalies celebrate their friendships and successes. The annual spring luncheon is always lots of fun. This year was no exception. Thanks to the committee who worked on it and also to our leader Sharon, who is always there for us.

Shown in the photo are the members of the planning and entertainment committee. As part of their program, we again enjoyed an excellent luncheon put on by the Country Club’s Sunset Grill. Yum. Two members of the committee, Cathy and Carol, provided us with some health-related trivia challenges. Having to think that hard gave me a headache, but when you can learn about health and have fun at the same time, that’s a pretty good combo.

Did you notice the ladybugs in the photo? Let’s just say those round, colorful ladies stand for fresh, healthy foods. Goalies did indulge in the cheesecake dessert, but the ladybugs blessed the wonderful salad.

The best thing about the luncheon is seeing everyone. Although many of us attend regularly, there are times when you’re away on a trip or otherwise engaged. But we almost all show up for the luncheon. It’s a good time to catch up on what’s happening.

One more thing about the spring luncheon. The biggest loser of this half of the year was Ruth Newby, so congratulations to her.
