Rev. Judy Wismar Claycomb
Have you lost a loved one recently and just begun your journey of grief? Or has it been weeks, months, or maybe years since you lost your loved one and yet you still suffer from deep sadness or regrets? Grief is a journey with all kinds of twists and turns and unexpected obstacles. Sometimes it is difficult to see the light at the end of the road.
Wherever you are in the grief journey, it helps to share your feelings with others on the same path. If you are not comfortable sharing your feelings, then just learning how others process their sadness will help you understand you are not alone.
Grief Support at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church is a non-denominational opportunity for encouragement, sharing, and learning to help process grief and move forward. One of the first things you learn about grief is that you are not “going crazy,” that there is no right or wrong way to grieve—everyone is unique in how they grieve, and it is not a linear journey; it has ups and downs. That is the gift of coming together with others who “get it” and will honor you.
Join us on Tuesday afternoons, beginning Jan. 13 and concluding Feb. 24, 2026. The seven-week class meets at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church in Room 1 of the Education building. Our address is 9248 E. Riggs Road.
Please register by stopping in or calling the church office at 480-895-8766.
Rev. Judy Wismar Claycomb is a retired United Methodist pastor and former Hospice Chaplain.
