Thirteen Hamilton High School Air Force JROTC students recently attended a Jewish War Veterans (JWV) meeting where they interviewed Post 610 Jewish War Veterans to learn about their time in the service. The community service event was created by cadet Eden Eldon under the supervision of Lt. Col. Daniel Kline. After the JWV monthly meeting concluded, each cadet paired up with a vet to hear their story so they could later be able to share it with fellow cadets. Shortly after the event was over, an email landed in Col. Kline’s inbox. The first thing he saw was, “Best meeting ever. The cadets’ impact on each veteran was tremendous.” The event brought together a very different age group in a common appreciation for the men and women who have served for our beautiful country. Both groups were thrilled with the success of Eden’s project and intend to work closely together on a regular basis.
