Happy New Year 2016 Sun Lakes Photographers! Here’s wishing each new picture-taker a year filled with fun times and great imagery. A great way to start is to join the Sun Lakes Camera Club at the Lake Havasu Balloon Festival the weekend of January 15. Spend two nights and days capturing hot-air balloons filling the sky with color! Contact Janet Ballard or Karen Melching for details and travel plan itinerary.

The Arizona Camera Club Council’s Fall Round Up was well represented by our club members. Among them, William Lewis received a first and third place for two of his image submissions. The featured image titled Elephant Family took home first place in the Monochrome, Nature – Print category. This stunning event was taken on the Serengeti of Tanzania using a Nikon D700 digital single lens reflex camera set on f11 and 1/640 second, with the zoom lens set at 200 mm. Congratulations Bill on your places and to the Camera Club members for each of their recognitions. Well done. The upcoming Spring Round Up will be held in March. The Rotating Subject Category is “Red.”

I wish to take a moment to recognize our very own John Livoti. He holds the tireless volunteer position of president. While leading and organizing our club’s events and activities, he also was asked to take on the role of vice chairman with the ACCC (Arizona Camera Club Council) this year. His responsibilities are assisting the chairman with the Round Ups along with all the active clubs’ events. Take a moment to find out about his new duties when you see him. Congratulations on your new role
