The Photographic Society of America (PSA), established in 1934, is a worldwide organization for anyone with an interest in photography. The PSA has members in over eighty countries. John Livoti, SLCC past President, has taken a role as Arizona State Membership Director for PSA. He, along with Sun Lakes Camera Club members Lynn Thompson, FPSA, EPSA and William Lewis, attended the PSA 2016 Conference held in San Antonio, TX recently. They witnessed the honoring of William Lewis’ 35 years as a PSA member as well as his receipt of the Silver Star Journal Award, three Stars in Large Monochrome Prints and three Stars in Large Color Prints to name just a few of many image awards including one PSA Gold and one PSA Silver award as well. Sun City Grand will be hosting the Arizona Camera Club Council’s 2016 Fall Round Up on Saturday, November 12. The featured speaker will be Arizona’s very own Ken Sklute who will present Visual Symphony. You will not want to miss this charismatic educator of light and photography. Our Introduction to Digital Photography class will be starting on Tuesday, November 15. Seasoned member and educator Dan Dragoon will be returning to offer his knowledge and instruction. This course will cater to those who are new to photography or interested in brushing up on the basic features of their camera. This club year we have added an additional course for those of you yearning for the next level in photography education; Mastering your Photo Techniques will be offered beginning in January 2017. Are you looking to improve by taking better pictures or add more creativity to your skills? Either course will provide keen attention to your interests and offer in-the-field photo shoots and class critiques. The Sun Lakes Camera Club (SLCC) meets the first and third Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club from October through April.
