Have you heard about the Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation?

Elaine Kraemer

It’s actually a charitable organization named the Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation! Its mission “is to enhance the quality of life for the older population in the East Valley, including Sun Lakes residents, in the areas of health, education and culture.”

In the past 18 months, the Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation has awarded grants in Sun Lakes which total $115,000! One of the Foundation’s proudest accomplishments has been funding the start-up of a weekly Music Therapy Program for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients in our community through the Sun Lakes Creative Engagement Partners.

Another good thing to know is that ALL donations made to the Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation are deductible on your tax returns, because the IRS has classified it as a 501(c)3 charitable organization! The Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation happily accepts the following types of gifts: checks / securities / real estate / life insurance policies / charitable remainder trust / charitable lead trust / pod bank account / TOD brokerage account / bequests through wills.

You can even donate a tiny portion of your purchases from Amazon.com and from Fry’s Food Stores! It’s painless and very easy to do. Amazon.com donations are made by logging into your account and enrolling in their Amazon Smile Program where you then select the Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation as your designated charity! Fry’s Food Stores donations are just as easy to accomplish.
