Heading down the highway

Harry Huckemeyer

Now that we’re officially past the monsoon season and the skies are blue, hopefully, you all are taking advantage of that pleasant outside air. October sort of flew by for our club, and it was a really productive month, not only for us, but also the communities around the Sun Lakes area, with many places to go and the opportunity to welcome back old friends and meet some new arrivals.

November is always an exciting time of the year, as Halloween has just passed by, and the holiday season is just days away. With this, the local areas load up with beautiful decorations, both in the neighborhoods and at all the major malls and shopping areas. Along with that, many of us will be having visitors for the Thanksgiving holiday to help finish up an exciting month while getting prepared for the upcoming major holidays.

You might want to take a moment to mark up your calendar for SunBird’s Community Day scheduled for November 14. The hours will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. where you’ll have another opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. Out on the patio there will be food available and also live entertainment provided by DJ Mikey Mike, plus much, much more.

If you want to get a taste of the “Old West,” on November 3, out in Apache Junction, there will an event at the Superstition Mountain Museum. This is a one-day event that will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. If you need further information, you can check their website, or for any of the above, you can get back to us. Our next meeting is scheduled for November 10, and we can be reached by telephone at 480-802-4976 or email at [email protected]. Looking forward to seeing you all in the not-too-distant future. Enjoy. If you are calling, please make sure you leave enough information so that we can get back to you.
