Do you know a dedicated volunteer? Someone who devotes a lot of time and energy to making our community a better place!

Consider nominating that person for a Crystal Award. Nomination forms are available at each of the three HOA reception desks and online through each HOA website.

The Crystal Award program, started in 2010, celebrates the importance volunteers play in so many different aspects of our lives.

To date, 69 outstanding volunteers have been honored. Each year, new honorees are chosen by a committee of six former awardees, two from each of the three Sun Lakes communities.

They include people who have served their HOAs on the Board or committees, people who have stepped up in service organizations like Neighbors Who Care or CAP, people who have volunteered to educate and entertain us through organizations like New Adventures in Learning or the Sun Lakes Community Theater and people who have organized community activities like golf leagues, tennis tournaments, card and game groups, travel and hiking outings.

The deadline for nominations is December 10. A banquet to honor the new awardees will be held on March 10, 2019.
