Hey, You Gotta Eat

Roxanne Swift

The cost of food has gone up, but there are things you can do to reduce the cost and cook healthier meals.

Vacuum packers and freezers are your best friends.

Usually the stores have good prices on meats and they come in a family/value pack. Break the bulk down to smaller portions and vac/pac. No freezer burn, lasts much longer. Shop the ads. Buy what is on sale and build a meal around those items. I usually can get a meal for five to six bucks a plate. (This meal pictured was under three bucks a plate).

All freshly made meat and veggies and potatoes, or rice cooked a variety of ways. Download the store app and clip the coupons. If you feel buying in bulk is too much for you, then split it with a friend. Prepackaged food is usually much more expensive as each time a food goes through a process, that process costs more.

I have ideas and recipes. So use what info you want and if it doesn’t suit you then that’s fine too. Have questions? Then ask away.

Cookin’ Rox because everyone has got to eat.
