Holiday “cheers” from the Cheers Singles Club

Cheers Halloween Party

Ann Kisner

This has been a busy time. We participated in the Open Houses in the ballrooms at Oakwood, Cottonwood and Sun Lakes Country Clubs. We had nice interest in our club and look forward to having some new members.

What a great time we had at our Halloween Party. The costumes were so much fun. Our witches must be on good behavior. This year, there were only two out and about at our party. Maybe they lost their brooms and are still out there somewhere looking for them so they can come back next year.

Our club is still helping support the Hamilton High School program for students in need. This December is an important time in this program. We need support from all of you to help these families have a Merry Christmas. Please contact Sally Wegryn at 203-470-0733 or Sue Agnew at 480-491-3774 to help. You can donate money by check or cash or be given a family that you can provide what is needed to have a happy Christmas meal and some gifts for them. Please respond immediately, as the holidays will be here very soon.

Here we are in the beginning of December. How quickly the year went by. We have plans for a busy new year.: wine tasting, fine/fun dining, book club, Wednesday movies, discussion group, hand and foot cards, pinochle and travel. Check the bulletin board at our social hour at the Poolside Café on Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. for more information on these activities.

If you are a single out there living in Sun Lakes, SunBird or Springfield, you are welcome to join us for Happy Hour at Poolside Café in Oakwood on Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. We would love to have you as a member. If you want more information, call Ginny Marr at 390-5145 or Richard Lewin at 525-3630.
