Sun Lakes resident Michael Marr stopped by the Sun Lakes Fire Department Station One recently to thank the crew that saved his life. Mr. Marr was in full cardiac arrest when the SLFD was called to his home on July 9. His wife, who had called 911, had been given instructions over the phone by the dispatcher to start CPR which she did until the Fire Department arrived. Taking over with the CPR, the crew had to defibrillate his heart repeated times en route to the hospital.

The Sun Lakes Fire Department’s Union Local 3560 recently volunteered their time at the “Back-to-School Clothing Drive” with the “Stitches of Love” organization in northern Phoenix. The clothing drive brought disadvantaged school children from around Arizona to the Alhambra High School where they received various clothing items and school supplies to start the school year right.
