The annual Sun Lakes Charities’ Ice Cream Social was held March 28 with a new feature this year – a Super Raffle. It was added to the Dinner Raffle which is always a crowd pleaser.

Many thanks to those who attended the event and to those businesses who provided cash, goods or services to make our raffles possible. We could not have put on such a super afternoon without the support of all of you and we thank you on behalf of the several charities that we support.

Our thanks go also to the many volunteers who worked not only on Saturday, but throughout the last three months putting the project together. Thanks to these dedicated people we are able to use all profits for charitable causes.

Those lucky enough to win at the Super Raffle and their prizes are:

1st Marlene Stegora, Lowe’s Patio Furniture; 2nd Nancy Grube, Galaxy Tab 4 from Western Bank; 3rd Mart Osborn, cash award toward a Classy Closet; 4th Dennis Westlind, 39 inch Vizio TV from Charles & Company; 5th Bob Layher, Brooksie’s Weber Gas Grill; 6th Doreen Price, a travel package with two nights at Sedona Summit, a Pink Jeep Tour and a ride on the Verde Valley Canyon Railroad; 7th Joann Barnes, a sapphire pendant from Walt’s Jewelers; 8th Gerad Claseman, a Poljot watch from Rakhman’s Jewelers; 9th J. Gransbury, golf for eight at Francisco Grande; 10th Sarah Kaufman, full auto detail from Cobblestone; 11th Tom Kasper, $400 from Dana Tires and 12th John Squicciarini, two nights in a junior suite with breakfast at the Chandler Holiday Inn.
