After rain delays, Rodger Brandt was victorious in earning the three-day 2024 Ironwood Cup Tournament by six strokes. Congratulations, Rodger!

The Summer League starts May 9 at SunBird. Sign-up sheets will be posted in a couple of weeks. The estimated cost per golfer is $40, to be confirmed. Five clubs are in the league: SunBird, Springfield, Palo Verde, Sun Lakes Phase 1, and IMGA. Scheduling of foursomes with five clubs presents a challenge. IMGA will host the league on July 9.

Thanks to the Adopt-A-Hole volunteers, the course’s fairways and tee boxes have fewer unrepaired divots. Please contact Ross if you want to participate in this worthwhile endeavor.

The league has 305 members of which 35 are “handicap only,” and we have 40 or so new members this year! Please make our new members welcome!

Doug Stodgel, Rules

New Local Ironwood Rule: The red stakes behind the 17th green identify a penalty area. If your ball crosses this margin, it is deemed to be in the penalty area. There is a drop area behind the green where you may play your next shot under a one (1) stroke penalty. This local rule is being implemented for safety. The golf staff does not want players looking for their ball in the rocks.
