Wow, just another few days and there will only be 11 months until the New Year. It’s getting scary just how fast time is flying by. The new IMGA Board of Directors held its first meeting of the New Year, and although we have lost the services of John Skoworn, Steve Westhoff will be a very capable replacement as vice president. Dan Smith, our new tournament chairman, sent out an initial feeler asking for member input regarding a new tee box policy. I hope that all members have responded so that the Board of Directors can move forward relative to the tee box issue.

January has been a busy month with the annual awards luncheon and the Ironwood Cup being completed. Winners of the Ironwood Cup will be published in the next issue of the Splash as well as posted on the bulletin board at Ironwood.

Hopefully participating members have completed the signup and are ready for the 2016 Member/Guest Tournament being held on February 16. This has been the premier event of the IMGA season and hopefully weather will cooperate to help make this year’s event as enjoyable as it has been in the past. Applications should be in by February 1.

We have lost the services of Jack Davis as tournament chairman after several years of dedicated work for IMGA. We sincerely thank you, Jack, for all your work. We look forward to Dan Smith being a very able replacement.

Last month I reported that Terry Bledsoe and his wife, Shirley, were doing well in Rhode Island. Unfortunately, Terry contracted pneumonia soon after I heard from his son and died suddenly. Terry was a long-time friend of many IMGA members and was a past President of the organization. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Terry’s wife and family.

Jim Poole recently took a bad fall at home, but after a stay in the hospital and a couple of weeks in rehab, Jim is at home and is on the mend. Look forward to seeing you on the course soon Jim.

Roger Jones reported that we have 17 new members in our ranks. Their names are posted on the bulletin board at Ironwood. When playing with them, please make a special effort to welcome them to IMGA.

Lastly, congratulations to Tom Wheaton for scoring the only hole-in-one for the 2015 season and that is a first for IMGA.
