Bruce has handed the publicity baton over to yours truly, Rick Staszewski. I can only hope I can be half as good as Bruce was. Tireless dedication to IMGA for years. He will be missed but is always ready to answer my questions.
Summer and the Arizona heat has arrived!
1) It is time to pay close attention to your hydration needs. Start the evening before golf by drinking plenty of water or drinks with electrolytes.
2) Bring plenty to the golf course. A banana in the morning is not a bad idea for potassium requirements. Bring your favorite snack!
3) Pace of play: Ideally, Ironwood is targeted at 3 hours, 30 minutes. Strive to keep pace with the group in front of you. Always be ready to hit. Stay within your routine, but be ready.
4) After finishing the hole, drive to the next tee box and enter your scores, etc.
5) The same applies after your round. Finish the scorecard back in the parking lot. Let the group behind hit and finish.
6) All these little things help with pace of play. We want to have fun and minimize our exposure. Don’t forget your sunblock or solar sleeves.
