Just in time to help with the post-holiday blahs, Sun Lakes’ own improvisational comedy troupe, The ImproVables, will be performing February 22 at Oakwood Country Club. The group is tuning up with some fun new games, some outlandish humor and a few surprises.
The schedule for a full evening of fun will be cocktails at 4:30 p.m., dinner at 5:30 p.m. and the show at 6:30 p.m. Tickets went on sale January 18 at the concierge desk and are priced at a fantastically affordable $20 for both the dinner and the show. Wow, what a deal!
The ImproVables are one of the area’s only senior improv troupes and have performed at venues all over the East Valley. Most of the members have been together for four years, since the group’s beginning.
Howard Hummel, one of the troupe’s founders, said, “Some senior citizens are remarkably clever and have great ideas. Some of them, however, have trouble learning lines as they age. Improv keeps them performing and keeps them young.”
The ImproVables last performance at Oakwood resulted in a sold-out house and a waiting list, so getting tickets early is advised. For more information, check with the Oakwood concierge desk.
The ImproVables are also looking forward to an April 8 joint performance with Off the Cuff, one of the area’s best-known improv troupes at Chandler Gilbert Community College.
