Carole Rockland, IronOaks Tennis Club
The IronOaks tennis courts were the site of spirited competition from Jan. 15-20 as 17 women’s teams and 14 men’s teams competed for the title of champion of their division.
The winners were as follows:
Women’s 4.0: 1st place: Amy Clubb and Cathy Coin, 2nd place: Ellen Maurer and Kay Wengert
Women’s 3.5: 1st place: Kristina Traylor and Olena Buxton, 2nd place: Julie Tunnell and Mary Stephens
Women’s 3.0: 1st place: Beth Jensen and Barb Hall, 2nd place: Rosalie Azzaro and Mary Dyrseth
Men’s 4.0: 1st place: Bob Lynne and Mark Sadosky, 2nd place: Mike Corey and Brian Snell
Men’s 3.5: 1st place: Arif Khan and Jerry Geiszler, 2nd place: Steve Malinowski and Pat Gleason
Men’s 75+: 1st place: John Gates and Art Baessler, 2nd place: Sandy Traylor and Austin Mason
Thanks to all the participants and to all the folks who came out to watch and cheer on their favorite team! Special thanks to members of the Party at the Net team, captained by Lori Wold and Julie Tunnell, for providing refreshments all week and a delicious lunch of chili and cornbread on the final day.
