IronOaks Tennis Club member Jack Sanders secured a major victory with a first place win at the United States Tennis Association’s National Tournament in Vancouver. This was part of USTA’s Grand Slam series of four Open events—played on grass, clay, indoors, and outdoors. The Vancouver section was played indoors.

Jack and his doubles partner, J.B. Hayes, competed in the 80-85 age bracket. They had never played as a partnership but knew each other for over 40 years from playing against each other at various times in Indiana.

Going in unseeded to secure their victory, they prevailed in four matches, including against the first, second and fourth seeded teams.
