USTA Championships

The USTA Women’s 55 and Over 7.0 Championships were held in Surprise, Arizona April 25-27. To get there, the team had to win their 2013 season, then win the District playoffs in September and win the Sectional playoffs in December 2013. Although the team did not make it to the semi-finals, they were very competitive against the best teams in the nation. Team members are Carmella Davin, Jeri Schulz, JoAnn Zapatka, Judy Gahide, Kay Wengert, Linda Carr, Patti Bain, Pat Davidson, Susan Stewart and Terri Vasquez.

There was also a Men’s 7.0 team at the Championships who had worked hard to achieve this placement. Their team included Ken Stanley, Greg Mather, Gary Porter, Phil Messer, Bill Corso, Terry Logan, Jim Utter, Art Baessler, Maurice Allen and Mel Terechenok.
