The fall Ironwood Lady Niners (IWLN) general meeting was held on Nov. 12. New executive board members were elected. The 2026 IWLN executive board members include Gail Hendricks, president; Deb Burns, vice president; Rachel Enloe, treasurer; and Jane Steffes, secretary. We thank these individuals for taking on these roles. Our league could not function without you.
Membership Drive: Guest Day was held on Nov. 19. IWLN members were encouraged to bring a guest to play golf that day who, hopefully, would also be interested in joining our league. This was a great outing for all and a good way for potential members to meet league members.
Our annual Christmas event will be held on Dec. 3. We will golf that day at 10 a.m., with lunch to follow at Poolside. Thanks to Renee Touchstone for all her hard work in planning this event.
Membership renewal is now open through our IWLN website membership.azgolf.org/join-the-arizona-golf-association/join/?cid=7141. 2026 membership is $105.
Please make sure to renew your membership prior to the last day of December. There will be a late-fee charge if you renew after that date.
The Medallion sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board at the Ironwood clubhouse. The qualifying dates of play are Dec. 10, Jan. 7, Jan. 21, and Feb. 18. You need to play at least two of these dates to qualify. The last day to sign up is Dec. 3. We encourage all IWLN members to participate in Medallion.
Information regarding outside invitationals includes the SaddleBrooke Invitational on March 31, 2026. More information will be shared when we receive more details. If you are an IWLN member and hear of any additional outside invitationals, please share this information with Janis Gustafson. Janis does post information for outside invitationals on the bulletin board at the Ironwood clubhouse. Many of our members enjoy playing golf in these invitationals and meeting other golfers across the state.
Starting in January, we will begin our annual fundraiser. This year we will be supporting Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Our league will collect donations weekly up until our Valentine event in February. We always do a great job of supporting a worthy cause through this endeavor. More details of how you can help support this fundraiser will be shared soon.
