The Ironwood Lady Niners’ (IWLN) annual fundraiser for 2026 will be for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. We will collect donations every week during our league circle time through our Valentine event on Feb. 11. Please consider donating to this worthy cause.
The first general meeting for the IWLN for 2026 was held on Jan. 28. Gail Hendricks will lead the way as president. Other officers for 2026 include Deb Burns as vice president, Rachel Enloe as treasurer, and Jane Steffes as secretary. Thank these ladies for their willingness to take on these roles. Our league could not function without them!
Feb. 11 will be our annual IWLN Valentine event. This includes golf, with lunch following at Poolside. “Fore the Love of the Game!” is the theme. Wear the colors or logo of your favorite football team (NFL or college) that day. The lunch will have “A Tailgate Party” theme with fried chicken, potato salad, nacho bar, and chili bar. As always, we thank Renee Touchstone for all her hard work in putting this event together.
IWLN has been invited to participate in several outside invitationals during the upcoming months. Boots, Birdies & Bogeys, hosted by Sunland Village East, will be held on Feb. 26. Apache Wells’ 9-Hole Swingers Invitational will be held on March 11. Also, the SaddleBrooke One Invitational will be held on March 31. Check the bulletin board at Ironwood Golf Club for more information on these events. Remember, sign up early, because events usually fill quickly, because we are limited on how many golfers can represent our club.
Coming up soon will be our own IWLN Invitational to be held on March 25. “Gilligan’s Island” is the theme. Encourage all lady golfers you know from across the state to join us that day for some fun golf, games, prizes, and luncheon.
As always, we welcome new members to the IWLN league. We play on Wednesday mornings every week. Come out and enjoy the game of golf with some great ladies.
