Wow! Congratulations are in order for Ironwood Lady Niners (IWLN) league member Denise Weibel for her hole-in-one on Feb. 26 at Ironwood. Denise aced hole 17 using an 8 iron.
IWLN was able to donate over $1,000 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital from our annual fundraiser this year. Thank you to all who participated in this worthy cause.
IWLN’s annual Valentine golf and luncheon was held on Feb. 11 with “Support Your Favorite Football Team” as the theme. The golf winners for the front nine that day were Nancy and Will Hooke and Lorene and Todd Lenseigne (for the second year in a row!), and for the back nine, Debbie Wood and Rich Popham and Deborah and Dennis Roberts. Congratulations to all. Lunch was served in the ballroom at Oakwood after golf.
Four ladies from IWLN participated in the Sunland Village Invitational on Feb. 26: Janis Gustafson, Gerri Weaver, Jolyn Elliott, and Linda Berg-Carmichael. Janis’ foursome placed second, and Gerri’s foursome placed third. It was a great event, and all four of the Ironwood Lady Niners who played in the tournament won door prizes. Thank you, ladies, for representing our league.
Our annual IWLN spring luncheon and awards event will be held on April 15. The theme for the day is “Blooming Balls,” and we would love to see everyone wearing a flowery spring shirt for golf that day. Lunch and awards will be poolside at Oakwood after golf.
We still have one more upcoming invitational for IWLN to participate in if interested. The Pinewood Invitational will be held on July 15. More information about registration will be coming soon.
