Coby Welch, Ironwood golf professional

We welcome Coby Welch to Ironwood as our new golf professional. I sat down with Coby and asked about his new position as he joins Mark Thesing (IronOaks Director of Golf) as a new staff member.
Background:
• Born in Highlands Ranch, Colo., and attended the University of Northern Colorado and played golf for them in the Big Sky Conference.
• Moved to Arizona and pursued a professional golf career, playing in various state opens and mini tour events.
• In 2018 Coby played in the U.S. Amateur held at Pebble Beach and Spyglass.
• Both Pebble Beach and Spyglass are his top favorite golf courses he has played.
• Coby was a local golf professional at Whirlwind and Ahwatukee Golf Club here in the East Valley prior to coming to Ironwood.
• Coby is a member of the 59 Club, posting that score at Las Sendas here in Mesa!
• His dream golf foursome is with Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler, and Boston’s own Mark Wahlberg!
