Steve Ambroso, President
Ciao!
The Sun Lakes Italian-American Club will be having a Chicken Marsala/risotto dinner meeting on Monday, Oct. 3, at Cottonwood’s San Tan Ballroom. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner is at 6 p.m., and a speaker from Free Spirit Travel will give a talk about upcoming trips planned for the land of our ancestors. The cost for dinner will be $23, and Zelle payment is the preferred way to pay. If you are not familiar with Zelle, please call, text, or email me for details. Cash or checks are accepted at registration on Oct. 3.
This will be our first meeting of the year, as we took the summer off. All tables will be spaced appropriately, and there will be a maximum of six people per table. This will allow us to use proper social distancing. There will also be several tables for “singles only.”
If you are thinking about joining the club and want to check us out, feel free to come to the dinner meeting at a cost of $23 (for dinner). When you join the club, there is a $15 annual membership fee that covers you from October through May. We meet monthly to “preserve, honor, and promote Italian heritage, customs, and traditions.” We also enjoy eating! If you are a member and on our monthly mailing list, you will receive an email with RSVP info around the 15th of the month. RSVP is a must so we can give the caterer an accurate count.
After a recent survey, here are a few topics that will be discussed at upcoming monthly meetings:
1. Best local Italian restaurants
2. Hands-on Italian cooking
3. Italian genealogy
4. Interactive Italian trivia
5. Italian Opera Concert at our annual Christmas party
6. Sisk Park potluck lunch and mini bocce tournament
The board of directors for the Sun Lakes Italian-American Club looks forward to meeting you, whether you are a returning member, a new member, or a guest. Come and check us out! If you have any questions, feel free to call, text, or email me at 480-577-9445 or [email protected].
Grazie. Ci vendiamo. (Thank you. See you soon.)
