Italian-American Club News

Steve Ambroso, President

Ciao! Do you like having fun with a great group of people? The Sun Lakes Italian-American Club (SLIAC) might be for you. We have 164 members and meet monthly from October through May at the San Tan Ballroom at Cottonwood for dinner and different topics every month. You might be sitting next to a person who came from Catania or Sicily or a person whose grandparents came from Montepulciano in Tuscany. You’ll never know until you come and check us out.

Here is a list of some of the monthly topics we have done recently:

• Italian trivia

• Italian wine expert

• Discussion about best local Italian restaurants

• Christmas Party with opera singers from Arizona Opera Company

• Potluck lunch and bocce ball at Sisk Park

• Queen Creek Olive Mill speaker and tour of the Olive Mill

• Speaker whose father was shot down over Italy during World War II and rescued by Italian partisans

• A traditional Italian wedding event with a DJ, dancing, and a lot of fun

• The Great Italian Dessert Bake-Off Competition

If you’d like more info, text or email me at 480-577-9445 or [email protected].
