Felice anno nuovo! (Happy New Year!)

The Sun Lakes Italian-American Club (SLIAC) had a festive start to the holidays on Dec. 5 with a live opera recital by members of the AZ Opera Company. A baritone, mezzo-soprano, and pianist put on an awesome recital of Italian opera and holiday music. A raffle followed the recital. We had 97 members and guests who thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and entertainment.

Our next dinner/meeting will be Monday, Jan. 2, at the Cottonwood San Tan Ballroom with doors opening at 5 p.m. (cash bar) and lasagna dinner at 6 p.m. The cost for dinner will be $23. RSVP will be required. As always, we encourage advance payment by Zelle or check. If you have special needs for dinner, please let us know when you RSVP.

Our speaker at the Jan. 2 meeting will be Dan Canepa who is the owner of Boccafina Gourmet Seasonings & Sauces. His company specializes in Italian food condiments. It should be a treat for your senses of smell and taste! If you are a current member of SLIAC, look for your monthly newsletter and get your RSVP in early. Guests are welcome to check us out.
