The Sun Lakes Italian American Club had a busy month. On Saturday, March 3, the members attended a picnic at Sisk Park. They also took a day trip on Tuesday, March 27, to see the Pompeii exhibit on display at the Arizona Science Center followed by a lunch at Amalfi’s. The exhibit was very interesting. It gave a history of what life was like in Pompeii before Vesuvius erupted, through artifacts found preserved in the ashes.

The monthly dinner meeting was held on Monday, April 2. Our guest speaker, Marci Koppelmaa, a Senior Tax Analyst at H&R Block, gave a great update on the tax changes that have changed this year or would have an impact on us. The membership voted in the new board for 2018-2019. The new officers are Jacquie Ruffino, president; Bob Castaldi, vice president; Carole Anne Smith, treasurer; Jo Ann Hamm, secretary and Joe Capano, sergeant-at-arms. They will be installed at the May dinner meeting which will be held at Palo Verde Country Club on Monday, May 7. This will be our last meeting before the members start leaving for the summer.
