Most Improved Golfers: On April 12, President Denise Fleshner hosted our General Meeting and Brunch and announced the IWLN “Most Improved Golfers” for 2016. Denise awarded the 1st Place Most Improved Golfer to Judy Thompson and the Runner-Up Most Improved Golfer to Lynnie Cheney. Both of the ladies were presented a certificate to commemorate their accomplishment and received a big round of applause. Congratulations, Ladies!

Game of the Day: The game of the day on March 15 was “Beat the Pro.” Eddy Renio, Director of Golf, joined our ladies for a round on the course in 91 degree temps. At our April 12 meeting, Denise Fleshner presented bag-tags to all of the ladies who “Beat the Pro.” They are Paula Bartoo, Deb Burns, Lynnie Cheney, Rachel Enloe, Toni Flanagan, Denise Fleshner, JoAnne Gaudioso, Ann Gavin, Deborah Greenwood, Karen Groth, Janis Gustafson, Jean Hapka, Barbara Johnston, Barbara Klemstine, BJ Krause, Sandy Krediet, Linda Liberti, Susan Meer, Vicki Mendenhall, Darla McCracken, Diane O’Neill, Barbara Pezzute, Judy Reidl, Sandy Roach, Maggie Robson, Susan Schaeffer, Dianne Severa, Barbara Sletto, Mary Swanson and Judy Thompson. Summer Play: It is hard to believe it’s time for our “Summer Shotgun” which began on May 17 and will continue through September 20. It is a 6:30 a.m. shotgun alternating the front and back nines with the time adjusted as needed. This is casual golf, no chits, and the play of the day is the play of your choice. Signup sheets are in the computer room. There are no set pairings – just sign up to create a foursome, play and enjoy.

Where did our winter go? With gorgeous weather again this year – albeit a tad bit cloudier than usual – we really didn’t have winter – it was Sun Lakes Heaven! We have arrived at the time of the year when many of our members leave for cooler climates. We wish them a wonderful summer and a safe journey. To those of us remaining – we’ll see you out on the course, followed by our yummy summer gathering on the back porch.
