Pastor Marvin Arnpriester
Mother Teresa was once asked by a novice, “How can you pick up those dirty, old, sick people on the street and wash them?” Mother Teresa replied, “Every one of them is Jesus in a different disguise.”
I wonder what might change in my behavior if I could see every person I meet as “… Jesus in a different disguise.” That was a rhetorical question, wasn’t it? We all know the answer. My attitudes and behavior would actually be different. I would no longer use some of the terms I use for others who are different from me. I could no longer see someone as less than me. I would truly begin to see every person as one known and loved by God, just as I believe I am known and loved by God.
And so, I pray “God touch my eyes with new ways of seeing, my mind with new ways of looking, and my heart with new ways of accepting your beloved children.”
Still in process, I hope and pray.
