Nebraska

Hey, fellow Nebraskans. After a wet and chilly start to the winter, here’s some good news to warm you up: the annual Nebraska State Dinner is just around the corner. Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 27 and we will be going to a new venue, the newly-redecorated San Tan Ballroom at the Cottonwood Country Club. The event has always been popular with Nebraskans living here for the winter months, and year round residents as well.

The event begins with a no-host bar and social hour at 5:00 p.m. Come chat with old friends and meet new Nebraskans. At 6:00 p.m. enjoy dinner of top sirloin steak or shrimp scampi, coffee or tea and dessert. Maddy Paschal and master guitarist Wendell Porterfield will provide country music, great rock and roll and a lot of pickin’ and grinning. Also featured will be a silent auction and raffle prizes. The full evening of food, entertainment and dancing is only $30 per person.

Reservation deadline is Wednesday, February 17. For reservations and more information call Sue Hull-Weinert at 402-690-1582.

The North Dakota/South Dakota annual gathering will be held on Saturday, February 27 in the Saguaro Room at the Cottonwood Clubhouse. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. This is a great time to visit with old friends, meet new friends, and enjoy great food.

The cost will be $20 per person and reservations will be required. For information please contact Ruth Pedersen at 480-802-2145.
