Sun Lakes United Methodist Church will again host Tuesday Nights Together, a series of free summer programs on Tuesday evenings in June, July and August. Topics vary from light and entertaining to more serious and important to our community. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
Each Tuesday event will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Lindsay Hall at Sun Lakes UMC. The programs will last an hour or so and no reservations are required. Just show up at the church and spend a great evening.
Mark your calendars for the June lineup:
June 7 – The Lighter Side of Gender Differences – Using the examples of a shopping trip and a committee meeting, explore the different ways men and women exhibit their differences in handling these very distinct gender traits! Plan to be amused at the differences! Presenter Bev Tarpley.
June 14 – A Glimpse of Life in Saudi Arabia — Join Pastor Jean for a glimpse of her life in Saudi Arabia with special emphasis about an American woman in this culture. She will share day-to-day life as well as security measures for families living in/near the American embassy compound. Presenter Pastor Jean Newell.
June 21 – Past, Present and Future: The Main Constant is LOVE – Presenter Christiana Holguin, 11th grade student, Sequoia Pathway Academy. Be prepared to be amazed at this young student’s ability to capture an audience and hold you spellbound with her original speech about world events and the constancy of LOVE in our interactions with others. Christiana is a veteran of two TEDx Talks and is in demand as a speaker in the Phoenix area.
June 28 – Stay and See Arizona: A Photo Trip to Arizona’s Beauty – Arizona is an amazing state. There is so much to see and do without ever crossing the state line. Photographer Bob Tarpley will present the photography display from the Province community in Maricopa that was produced by the Province Photography Club. You will leave with a travel brochure so you can find these places to explore on your own.
The remaining lineup of our Tuesday Nights Together series, to be held in July and August, will be published in future issues of the Splash.
