Korean War Veterans

Leon “Skip” Johnson, Chapter Commander

Although the local Chapter of the Korean War Veterans had made the decision earlier to put on hold most upcoming events for the remainder of the 2021 year, for the safety of all its members and others, the organization is always dedicated to help assist all veterans in need of support and assistance in the best manner possible. Our doors are never closed to those requiring help, as accidents do happen at the most inconvenient times. In many situations, we can provide help during an emergency, as we have access to a wide variety of medical equipment that can assist at a time of need. At present, at our disposal we have an assortment of many things in our storage area that are only a phone call away in any unexpected emergency situation. This includes a variety of four-wheel-powered wheelchairs and much more that can be obtained on short notice by making a phone call to the telephone number listed below.

As we approach the holiday season and the final days of a challenging year for all, the Korean War Veterans will be getting together for their holiday celebration on the 16th of December at 1 p.m. The location will be at RigaTony’s, a local favorite for many, which is located at 1870 E. Warner Road. If you are unfamiliar with the area, it is easy to find and can be seen driving by the large shopping area off to the right. Take the 101 to Warner Road, turn left, and if you reach McClintock, you’ve gone too far. For further details, call your Chapter Commander.

We wish you all a safe, healthy, and a happy holiday season with friends and family. Always take out a moment of your time to thank all of those serving our country who will be away from their families and loved ones during this holiday season. Also show appreciation for all those who have been working so hard keeping our shelves stocked and the streets safe, and the many in the medical field who are putting in many hours in treating those in need while sacrificing their own safety at becoming vulnerable to exposure of the virus. For any additional information, always feel free to call Leon “Skip” Johnson at 970-481-3005.
