Our organization would like to extend our appreciation for all the support you provided over the past year, and we’re looking forward to a fresh new start as we approach new challenges in the year ahead. Things are getting back to normal, and our meeting schedule has been firmed up. Meetings will be resuming from September through April of the new year. Get ready to mark your new calendars, as there are a few changes as we head into the days ahead. Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 28, and will be held in the Friendship Room located in the main building of Sun Lakes Country Club off Riggs Road. At the upcoming February meeting, we are honored to have well-known guest speaker Sandra Powers joining us. Over the years, our guest speakers have been able to provide us with a wealth of information, allowing us to keep current with benefits that are available and also expose us to additional information that we may find beneficial to us in the future. Veterans of all branches of the service are always welcome. In addition to our scheduled meetings, several of our current members meet on a weekly basis at one of our local restaurants where all are welcome. It affords the opportunity to get better acquainted with those who attend. At present, these weekly get-togethers are at Black Bear Diner on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. All veterans are always welcome.
Being a service organization, we are well aware that we all are vulnerable to the unexpected, and accidents do happen. One of our club’s main goals is to be able to provide help and support in the best manner possible when needed to those in need. Our doors are always open, and help is only a phone call away. To support this, our organization maintains a significant amount of medical supplies and equipment that is available from our storage facility to those in need.
