Korean War Veterans

Rich Volpe, Chapter Commander

As we head into the time of year closing in on some of our major holidays, our organization would like to give a special thanks and extend our appreciation to all who have helped support us over the past years. Things are getting back to normal, and we have been going through some changes that appear to be working out. There may be more to come, but at present, our scheduling and meeting locations have been working out really well. Our meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month, running from October up until May annually. Meetings are held in the Friendship Room, which is located in the main building of Sun Lakes Country Club. Meetings start at 10 a.m.

Being a service organization, a few of our primary goals are to be there for those in need of support or help in an emergency situation and also to help keep veterans up to speed in an ever-changing world on benefits and assistance if required in obtaining help. Additionally, a wide variety of medical equipment is maintained for emergencies for those with special needs. Whether it’s for a short-term problem or a disability that may require some special equipment to help improve one’s quality of life, we’re there to offer assistance. For additional information in this area, please contact our chapter commander.

In addition to monthly meetings, our club does have some social get-togethers, with several club members meeting on a weekly basis. Typically, these are held at Black Bear Diner each Tuesday at 2 p.m. where some members and family get together for lunch and an opportunity to get to know each other and meet up with new friends of like backgrounds. Feel free to stop by anytime you’re in the area.

For any additional information regarding club activities or more details on any of the above, please feel free to call our chapter commander at 480-802-2532. He will be happy to talk to you.
